FishHawk Ranch was founded a little over a decade ago as a small neighborhood of homes just southeast of Tampa, Florida. Over the past few years, it has developed into one of the most active planned communities in all of Florida. Much of this development has been due to its focus on green living and family values.
One of the biggest benefits of the housing in FishHawk Ranch is the selection. There are a total of 13 homebuilders, including national names like DR Horton and Ryland Homes. With many of these builders offering a number of different designs, there are many different types of homes throughout FishHawk. Sabal Homes, for example, builds nine different types of homes in the community.
If you are looking for luxury homes, there are two neighborhoods that offer high-end and custom built houses. The Chapman Crossing neighborhood offers the privacy and seclusion of a gated community while still benefiting from the amenities of FishHawk Ranch. The Preserve neighborhood is even more secluded and features a boardwalk that connects the neighborhood to the FishHawk Ranch trail system.
Restaurants & Shopping
FishHawk Ranch offers a number of dining and shopping options both inside the community and nearby. In the heart of the community is the Park Square shopping center. It features the Park Square Cellar and Bistro, Park Square Pizza, Bonsai Sushi, Ambiance Salon and Spa, The Art Monkey, FishHawk Ranch YMCA Express, and a number of other shops.
If you are looking for more dining options, within a few miles of the community you can find Outback Steakhouse, Formaggio’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, Jake’s Wayback Burgers, Beef O’Brady’s, Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Panera Bread, Starbucks, and many more options.
In addition to the local Publix and Walgreens, there is a Wal-Mart and Super Target less than ten miles from FishHawk Ranch. If you are up for a little drive, the International Plaza Mall and the Prime Outlets are each just a little over thirty miles away.
Family & Fitness
Family and fitness are two of the cornerstones that FishHawk Ranch was founded upon. For that reason, there is a stunning number of clubs, pools, and sporting facilities located throughout the community. Probably the most impressive is the $8 million FishHawk County Sports Complex. This fantastic facility features baseball fields, batting cages, football and soccer fields, and an extensive trail system.
There are a number of clubs for residents to choose from, including the Aquatic Club, Osprey Club, The Palmetto Club, Tennis Club, and Starling Club. Each of these clubs offers their own unique set of amenities.
Residents of FishHawk Ranch are known for placing a premium on education. Their children will benefit from a number of schools that are all very reputable. The seven different local preschools will make sure that young children are started in the right direction early.
As children graduate into the Hillsborough County School District, they will either attend Bevis Elementary, FishHawk Creek Elementary, or Stowars Elementary. From there, they will progress to either Barrington Middle School or Randall Middle School, and eventually Newsome High School. If parents are looking for even more exclusive options, there are also seven different private schools in the area.
After high school, students can pursue higher education degrees at a number of local institutions. Some of those options include Hillsborough Community College, Florida Metropolitan University, University of Tampa, and ITT Technical Institute.
One of the most interesting quirks about FishHawk Ranch is that it is known for being a “green” community. Every aspect of the community’s design was focused on being environmentally friendly. This is the reason that residents enjoy so much open space, green gardens, and nature trails.
Another interesting feature of FishHawk Ranch is that it is located only 30 miles from MacDill Air Force Base. For this reason, there are a number of active military personnel living in the community, and some of the homebuilders offer special discounts to military families.
FishHawk Ranch is surrounded by local roads like Boyette Road, Dorman Road, and Bryant Road. It is located just slightly east of I-75, which provides residents a direct shot into Tampa.
With its excellent schools and family-focused community centers, FishHawk Ranch is one of the best places to raise a family in Florida.
