Lake Ashton

Lake Ashton is a gated, central Florida retirement community located approximately one hour south of Orlando. Highlights include a 26,000 square foot clubhouse, a 30,000 square foot health and fitness center, 2 18-hole championship golf courses, and more. The community is named after the lake it is situated on, Lake Ashton, which affords residents plenty of opportunity for boating and fishing.

The clubhouse features full dining room and lounge, a four lane bowling center, movie theater with surround sound, exercise facility including saunas, library and game room, plus an oversized heated pool, and spa. The health and fitness center features an indoor swimming pool, indoor track and indoor basketball court, racquetball court, a massage therapist on call, weight room, and a personal trainer and nutritionist on staff. A full-time activities director makes sure that there are plenty of activities and events going on at all times to keep residents schedule’s full.

The two private golf courses have a full pro shop, driving range, and the Eagles Nest pub. There are also lighted hard and clay tennis courts and shuffleboard courts. Along with Lake Shoton’s waterfront activities comes a boat ramp and dock with boat slips, and an RV and boat storage area which is a tough feature to find in other Florida retirement communities.

Homes at Lake Ashton start at $179,990 and some even have motor coach garages attached. Single family homes range in size from 1300 square feet living area up to over 2500 square feet.

Lake Ashton has a visitation program, like a lot of other Florida retirement communities, where you can arrange to stay for 3 days and 2 nights for just $99, which is less than the price of most area hotels for 2 nights. This will allow you to get a good feel for the type of community Lake Ashton really is. [Visit website]
