River Hall is a private, gated master-planned community near Fort Myers, FL being developed by The LandMar Group out of Jacksonville. When all is complete there are expected to be around 1400 homes in this large community, anchored by a Davis Love III designed championship golf course.
River Hall is being developed with a “Low Country” theme, and there are currently 3 builders from which to choose. There are homes available ready to move in to from the $190,000’s to over $1 million, or you can select a lot and have one of the preferred builders create a home to fit your exact specifications and needs.
While not specifically a Fort Myers retirement community as people of all ages can live there, River Hall does fit the needs of those looking for the perfect Florida retirement lifestyle.
Awards are coming in for River Hall, and it was recently named a Top 100 Master-Planned Community by Where to Retire Magazine:
“The acclaimed Davis Love III golf club community in the river country of Fort Myers, Florida has been honored with the “America’s 100 Best Master Planned Communites” designation by Where to Retire magazine. With hundreds of communities in the running from around the country, River Hall made the final cut and became one of three LandMar communities represented in the publication. Seeking out the nation’s top neighborhoods, the staff at Where to Retire compared trends in new home construction, amenities, lifestyle services and a plethora of other assets when deciding which communities would make the final list. As always, onsite activities and the stage of the development also played a hand in the final selection.
Showcased in the article were Roberta and Donald Licker, who had previously retired in nearby Cape Coral from Pittsburgh, but were drawn to River Hall by its Davis Love III course. Since moving to River Hall last Summer, Roberta summed up their reason for moving to this new community. “We liked the idea of being here early. We wanted to get in on the beginning of the community so we can nuture relationships,” said Roberta.”
River Hall features an amenity center named “Town Hall” that has a pool, Clubhouse, fitness areas, Kid’s Wing, snack bar and programmed activities. The 8,000 square foot Golf Clubhouse features locker rooms, pro shop, a full service bar and restaurant, and a driving range.
As with any Florida community such as this, you’ll want to find out before purchasing what the membership/association dues are, whether membership in the golf club is required, etc. It’s always a good sign when a community is very forthcoming about all of this information.
