My heart goes out to everyone impacted by Hurricane Ian. If you are currently in one of the affected areas, please stay safe!
I know that all of the cities that have been affected will be back better and stronger than ever, and I can't wait to write about their recovery and rebound.
After a small break from working on the site to help family and friends with cleanup and recovery efforts, I'm back to work but there's a lot to do. Please be understanding and patient with me as I try to update articles, the automated email newsletter series, and social media posts as quickly as possible, especially when they pertain to the areas most affected.
How You Can Help
I'll be donating a portion of the proceeds from The 2023 Florida Retirement Guide to recovery efforts, but if you'd like to help too, here are a few options:
Florida Disaster Fund
This is Florida's official private relief fund. You can donate online, send a check or text “DISASTER” to 20222 to make a $10 donation.
The Red Cross
You can donate online or text “IAN” to 90999 to make a $10 donation. The Red Cross is also asking for blood donors.
Volunteer Florida
This state agency has several volunteer positions available to assist with Hurricane Ian recovery efforts, such as volunteering with the Red Cross or assisting with mental health services.
