Inside Latitude Margaritaville Daytona’s Private Beach Club

by Ryan Erisman | Updated: December 5, 2022

Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach opened the doors to their Private Beach Club, which is actually located in Ormond Beach, in early 2021.

In this article, we'll explain what the rules for access are like, and how residents and their guests can take advantage of this fantastic (and rare) retirement community amenity.

Looks pretty great in the video above, am I right?

But, make no mistaica…this ain't Jamaica!

In order to keep the place in tip-top shape, there are quite a few rules and restrictions surrounding use of the Beach Club that residents and their guests will have to follow.

Here are some of the more notable rules.

Getting There

First off, it should be noted that access to the Beach Club will be strictly controlled.

As such, the primary way to get there is via the shuttle service provided by Latitude Margaritaville which picks up from the Town Center parking lot.

You currently can't drive to and park at the Beach Club, though you can have somebody drop you off.

Only 2 residents and up to 4 guests (6 total people per household) will be allowed at the Beach Club or on the shuttle bus each day. Residents get two round-trip shuttle tickets complimentary, but guest tickets are $5 per person each way.

It's also important to note you can't just “show up” at the Town Center and expect to get a ride to the Beach Club.

You have to reserve a ride through the Association's website. Again, walk-on rides will not be permitted.

The ride to the Beach Club takes about 20-25 minutes depending on traffic, and shuttle service will run on alternate hours, leaving on the hour.

Shuttle service (and thus, Beach Club) days and times may vary depending on the season. For example, at the time of this writing in March the Beach Club is open Wednesday through Sunday.

I would imagine that the beach club will be open 7 days a week as it gets closer to summer.

What You Can Bring

You may bring one cooler per household, no larger than 60-quart capacity.

There are beach chairs available for residents to reserve on the beach (more on that in a second…), but you can also bring one foldable beach chair per person.

Each person may also bring one beach bags no bigger than 11” tall by 17” wide by 18”-20” long.

Beach Chair Service

You may have noticed the umbrellas and chairs set up on the beach in the video above.

Residents can book a chair for a 3-hour increment on a first come, first serve basis. The complimentary chairs are for residents only and must be reserved.

Additional beach services, including chairs, are available for purchase for residents and guests. Residents and/or guests may lose their beach chair if it is left unoccupied for more than 60 minutes.

Food and Drink

Only prepared food is allowed in the Beach Club. Food preparation and meal creation are not permitted at the Beach Club. Also, food and drinks are not allowed in the Beach Club pool.

There is a refrigerator, located behind the Beach Club bar, that is available for resident use. No glass items are permitted in the refrigerator, so be sure to pack your LandShark cans, not bottles. Glass bottles and pools don't mix!

Residents must remove all food and drink items from the refrigerator
upon leaving the Beach Club as the refrigerator is completely emptied and cleaned every day.

There is also an ice machine but it is not intended for filling your cooler. You should do that at home before you leave.

No Smoking

Sorry, this is not a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Smoking (anything…including e-cigarettes) is not permitted on the Beach Club premise.

No Kids in the Pool

While children and guests under 18 are allowed to come with you to the Beach Club to access the beach, they are not allowed in the Beach Club pool.

Additionally, children must be accompanied by a resident at all times.

Changes in Attitudes?

As with all things just starting out, these rules are subject to change as they see how things are working and get feedback from residents.

So, just know that by the time you move to Latitude Margaritaville Daytona, some of the above rules and restrictions may have changed.

Speaking of which…
