48 Hours in Palm Beach

by Ryan Erisman | Updated: August 25, 2023

Palm Beach is a sun-soaked paradise that offers a unique blend of luxury, history, and natural beauty. Whether you're a lover of art, a foodie, or someone looking to relax by the beach, Palm Beach has something for everyone.

If you've got just 48 hours to spare in this coastal haven, here's how to make the most of it:

Day 1

Morning:

Breakfast at Green's Pharmacy: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at this historic eatery. Established in 1938, Green's Pharmacy has served locals and celebrities for decades. Don't forget to try their famous pancakes!

Worth Avenue: After breakfast, stroll down Worth Avenue, Palm Beach's iconic shopping street. Lined with palm trees, this upscale shopping district boasts luxury boutiques, art galleries, and beautiful Mediterranean architecture.

Afternoon:

Visit The Breakers: This legendary resort is a must-visit. Even if you're not staying here, you can tour its historic halls, dine in one of its restaurants, or simply enjoy the beachfront.

Norton Museum of Art: Spend your afternoon exploring this renowned museum, which houses an impressive collection of American, European, and Chinese art.

Evening:

Dinner at Buccan: Treat yourself to a gourmet meal at Buccan, one of Palm Beach's top dining spots. The menu, crafted by Chef Clay Conley, offers a modern take on American cuisine with a touch of global influence.

Clematis Street: After dinner, head to Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach. This vibrant area is perfect for a night out, with numerous bars, clubs, and live music venues.

Day 2

Morning:

Breakfast at The Colony Hotel: Begin your second day with breakfast at The Colony. Their poolside dining offers a refreshing start to your day.

Palm Beach Lake Trail: Rent a bike and explore the scenic trail that runs alongside the Intracoastal Waterway. It's a great way to see the island's mansions and lush landscapes.

Afternoon:

Flagler Museum: Delve into the history of Palm Beach at the Flagler Museum. Once the winter retreat of Henry Flagler, this Beaux-Arts mansion offers a glimpse into the Gilded Age.

Relax at Midtown Beach: Spend your afternoon soaking up the sun at Midtown Beach. With its golden sands and clear waters, it's the perfect spot to unwind.

Evening:

Dinner at Palm Beach Grill: Established in 1999, Palm Beach Grill serves classic American dishes like the PBG cheeseburger, a selection of USDA Prime steaks, and a local favorite the Silver-Service Kosher Hot Dog.

Catch a Show at Kravis Center: End your trip on a high note with a performance at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. From Broadway shows to concerts, there's always something happening here.

In just 48 hours, you'll get a taste of what makes Palm Beach so special. While it's impossible to see everything in such a short time, this itinerary ensures you experience a good bit of what this coastal gem offers.
