Here’s What It’s Like to Build a Home in Latitude Margaritaville

A little while back I shared a video about how houses are built here in Florida and how it is likely a little different from how houses are built wherever you live currently.

You should also know that how different builders and communities handle the new home construction process will vary throughout Florida.

In this video, you'll get a good idea what the home building process is like in one of Florida's most popular retirement communities being developed today, Latitude Margaritaville in Daytona Beach:

One thing in particular that got my attention is the fact that they have you out to the home while it's under construction numerous times to show you exactly how things are coming together.

This might surprise you to hear but not every builder does this!

Years ago when I was selling new homes the builder I worked for did everything they could to discourage buyers from walking through their new homes until they were complete 🙁

Here's what Latitude Margaritaville resident, and my preferred Realtor, Kelley Sarantis had to say about this:

Having the multiple opportunities to meet your superintendent and review the plans, see the building process, learn all the systems is a real plus to building at Latitude Margaritaville.  During the personalized process, the anticipation and excitement to getting in your brand new home is hard to contain.  Plus on days when you get to visit your lot/home, you can stop at the Community Bar and Chill to enjoy some delicious food and cocktails while meeting future neighbors.

Another thing I was surprised to see in the video is the fact that they offer a two year material and workmanship warranty.

A lot of communities, including The Villages, only offer a one year warranty.

Note that this warranty is different from the “structural” warranty that most builders offer which is usually good for 10 years.
