Decades before spending my Saturday mornings sending you these articles about Florida retirement, and before I was even old enough to drive, I would wake up at 5am most weekend mornings and ride my bike to my neighborhood tennis club to report for duty at my first job.
I was responsible for sweeping the clay courts, filling the water jugs and delivering them to the courts, opening the clubhouse for business, and getting the coffee started (you're welcome Mr. Gullo).
Looking back now, I see how important the club was to keeping residents active and engaged, so I love it when I see new communities making a racquet club part of their plans like GL Homes is at their Riverland 55-plus community in Port St. Lucie.
Take a look:
The Riverland Sports and Racquet Club comprises 14-acres dedicated entirely to fitness, making it easy for you to stay as active as you want.
From over 40 outdoor sports courts to the massive fully-equipped fitness center with indoor pool, Riverland knows how to do fitness right so you’ll never need a gym membership again.
In addition to having a great facility, it's just as important to have a world-class director running the show, and it looks like the Riverland Sports and Racquet Club has found their guy in former pro tennis player and current world-ranked pickleball player Joey Farias.
If pickleball, tennis, or fitness in general are important to you, make it a point to check out this fantastic new 55+ community on Florida's East Coast.
Valencia Grove at Riverland brings together GL Homes’ famous 55+ resort-style living with an amazing master site plan to create a Florida lifestyle that’s second-to-none!
At this new community, you’ll find a million ways to have fun. Walk to nearby shops and restaurants, spend the day at the beach or simply enjoy all the amenities right within your own neighborhood.
