Tall Oaks is a gated, 55-plus manufactured home retirement community in Naples, FL. One thing that you will notice immediately when compared to many other Florida retirement communities is that there is not a golf course within the community.
This is actually not a bad thing, because if you do play golf there are plenty of courses in and around the Naples area, but you will not have to worry about the upkeep of the golf course effecting your monthly or yearly maintenance fees. This can be a huge savings.
Amenities you will find though at Tall Oaks of Naples are a large heated pool with Spa, tennis courts and shuffleboard courts, a clubhouse, and a fishing pier/dock with stocked lakes. Membership in the HOA is open to everyone in the community and there are monthly parties and community gatherings, card and game nights, bingo nights, group trips and other activities. Plus you have all the amenities of shopping and dining in Naples very close-by.
As I mentioned Tall Oaks is a manufactured home community and there are resales listed on the community's website starting in the $50,000 range and there are some bank-owned homes that are a little less money. Definitely not as glamorous as some other retirement communities we cover but if you're on a tight budget, you should know that there are communities around Florida such as Tall Oaks where you can get some of the typical amenities of the Florida retirement lifestyle without paying an arm and a leg. Tall Oaks of Naples appears to be prejudice against Canadians. I have tried contacting them both by their 1-800 phone number and several e-mails. We have cash to purchase a home but they have not responded to any e-mails. Do you know this to be a fact or are they just so disorganized they can’t even acknowledge a cash purchaser?? If there are any Canadians living there, I’d appreciate hearing from you!!
