Many Florida residents think of June as the month when the last of the snowbirds head north for the summer. They also know that June is the month when vacationing tourists pour into our state in the heaviest numbers.
But while June is a month where the people who occupy the state changes quite a bit, it is just another month for anyone looking for fun events happening all over the Sunshine State.
If you are looking to get out and have a good time anywhere from the Everglades up through the Panhandle this month, we have got you covered with some of the best events and festivals happening all over Florida.
Art & History
St. Armand’s Circle Craft Festival
South Florida crafters and artisans will be heading to Sarasota on the weekend of June 8 and 9 for the St. Armand’s Circle Craft Festival. Downtown Venice Craft Festival
Another crafting festival coming to South Florida this month will be the Downtown Venice Craft Festival on June 15 and 16. This event will have vendors lined up and down Miami Avenue in Venice with an entire section of the street dedicated to green products.
28th Annual Tallahassee Model Railroad Show & Sale
While model trains might not feel like an art and history event to some, the passionate people attending the 28th Annual Tallahassee Model Railroad Show & Sale at the North Florida Fairgrounds this month will certainly disagree.
This massive model railroad show will be happening on Saturday, June 22 this year, and there will be a huge number of vendors as well as 14 mind-blowing train displays.
Food & Beverage
Savor Sarasota
Not only will Sarasota be hosting a fantastic crafts festival during the month of June, but Savor Sarasota will also be happening throughout the first two weeks of the month.
From June 1 through 14, just about every major restaurant in town will be putting on special events designed to promote Sarasota as one of the top culinary destinations in all of Florida.
69th Annual Watermelon Festival
Another fun food event happening during the first two weeks of June is the 69th Annual Watermelon Festival in Monticello, which is just outside of Tallahassee.
Not only does this local watermelon festival feature plenty of seed spitting contests, but there is also the Great American Bed Race and the Ultimate Air Dogs, which are the type of thing that you really just have to see for yourself.
Taste of the Caribbean
The Hyatt Recency in Miami will be hosting Taste of the Caribbean on June 21 through 25. Since June is Caribbean Heritage Month here in Florida, this is the perfect time to head down to Miami to experience some of the delicious tastes of the islands.

Key West International Guitar Festival
Most people don’t really need a reason to head down to the Florida Keys for a weekend, but the Key West International Guitar Festival sure is a good one for guitar lovers. This “electric” festival will be taking over Key West from June 21 to 23 and there will be all kinds of guitar-related events and live performances happening up and down Duval Street.
Nature Festivals

Checking out the latest and greatest boats in Bradenton will be fun, but if you are more interested in casting a line, you’ll want to head to Pensacola on June 13-16 for the Bill Hargreaves Fishing Rodeo. This will be the 49th year for the event, and the prize purse is going to be an impressive $7,000 this year.
Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic
Another huge Gulf Coast fishing competition happening this month is the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic in Sandestin, which runs for eleven straight days starting on June 13. Organizers of this event are expecting more than 100 boats to enter, and the prizes will likely exceed $2.5 million.
