by Ryan Erisman | Updated: March 29, 2019

Jupiter, Florida, inlet and light house.

In case you missed it, earlier this week we published our roundup of some of the best activities and events taking place throughout Florida the month of April. Check it out here if you haven't already.

Standing 6′ 8″ tall, I don't think I could live in a tiny house simply based on the amount of space that I take up, but there's definitely a lot of interest in them these days. This week, a Melbourne, FL based tiny home builder is featured in an episode of A&E's “Tiny House Nation”. – Florida Today

Maybe I'll try to sneak a tennis mention into every newsletter, almost like a little Easter egg. This week, The New Yorker has an article featuring the state-of-the-art USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, FL. “Florida is where the United States manufactures its élite tennis players” the article begins…and not so great ones like me 😉 – The New Yorker

What the hail? Parts of Florida's east coast got hit by a massive hail storm this week. If you didn't know any better you would have thought a snow storm came through. Images posted on the city of Trenton Public Safety Department’s Facebook showed roadways covered with hail…

And check out the video from this resident in Cocoa Beach…

Ever heard the term “new urbanism”? It's an urban design movement which promotes environmentally friendly habits by creating walkable neighborhoods containing a wide range of housing and job types. We birthed it here in Florida, in a tiny place called Seaside in the Florida panhandle. Check out this article on the early history of the movement and how it came to be. – NWF Daily News

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Every now and then Jack deserves an adult beverage. So, here are 11 of the most iconic bars in the entire state of Florida. – Only in Your State

Those solar panels are sounding better and better. Millions of Floridians’ power bills could rise dramatically as FPL and other utilities look to customers to pay more for improvements that could make the state’s electrical grid more resilient from hurricanes. – South Florida Sun Sentinel

Almost every week it seems someone is out with “The Best Place for this…” or “Happiest place for that…”. This week The Motley Fool is out with the other side of the coin in their article “The 5 Worst States for Retirees”. Thankfully this is one list Florida didn't make. – The Motley Fool

Smoke 'em if you got 'em, but just not at Disney. The theme park is eliminating smoking areas at its parks in California and Florida. – AP

East Coast vs. West Coast. Which Florida coast is right for you? Here are some of the biggest advantages that each Florida coast has to offer. – Citrus Hills Blog
